Drug and Alcohol Policy StatementIt is Lane County Hospital's desire to provide a drug-free, healthful, and safe workplace. To promote this goal, Associates are required to report to work in an appropriate mental and physical condition to perform their jobs in a satisfactory manner. Lane County Hospital is committed to providing safe and efficient care to those we serve as well as an appropriate work environment for our staff. That commitment is compromised when Associates use alcohol or illegal drugs on the job, come to work under the influence, possess, distribute or sell drugs in the work place or while on Lane County Hospital business offsite.
To help ensure the safety of patients, residents, staff and visitors, Lane County Hospital implements a policy of drug and alcohol testing to determine possible use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or the misuse of prescribed medication. It is the intent of this policy to designate safety as a primary concern of Lane County Hospital. It is further intended to convey the distinct message that use of alcohol, illegal drugs or the misuse of prescribed medication is not permitted and will result in discipline up to and including termination of employment.

Arrest/conviction for drug or alcohol related offenses
