Acute Care


Acute Care is Care administered to a patient with an acute trauma-e.g., burns, trauma, cardiac arrest, surgery, or other condition in which may be administered in ambulances, ERs, CCUs, and elsewhere. Acute care is usually given in a hospital by specialized personnel using complex and sophisticated technical equipment and materials, and it may involve intensive or emergency care. This pattern of care is often necessary for only a short time.

Skilled Swing Bed


Lane County Hospital's Skilled Swing Bed services may be the answer to your needs when you no longer need acute care services, but may require more help before you can care for yourself at home. Our Swing Bed staff is made up of a team of caring, qualified professionals who meet the needs of the patient and their family, respects the dignity of all, and promotes quality care. Patients benefit from an interdisciplinary activity plan, discharge plan and care instructions for the patient and their family.

Intermediate Swing Bed


The goal of the Skilled Swing Bed is to provide rehabilitation, allowing patients to attain independent ability with activities of daily living and mobility. LCH offers inpatient skilled care after surgery and certain other medical conditions. The swing bed assists patients in making the transition from acute care to home or long-

Observation


Lane County Hospital's observation services are designed to provide high-quality, personalized care for patients who require evaluation and treatment for up to 24 hours. Some conditions that may require observation include chest pain, abdominal pain, kidney stones, and minor infections. Our staff closely monitors the conditions of our patients and provides treatment which may include intravenous fluids, pain medication and/or antibiotics.
