Dietary and Food Services

The Lane County Hospital Dietary Services Department provides meal service for patients, staff, and patient's guests in our dining room. Additionally, snacks are offered 3 times daily throughout the day to patients. The department is open from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. daily. The dining room is open 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. for breakfast, 11:45 A.M. to 1:15 P.M for lunch, and 5:00 PM to 6:30 P.M. for dinner seven days a week.

The dietary staff works hard to prepare a variety of entrée, soups, vegetables, and desserts daily for the Hospital as well as preparing a full salad bar Monday through Friday for lunchtime.

The Registered Dietician provides clinical nutrition services and oversees assessments for patients. Dietary works closely with our physicians, rehabilitation services, nursing, social workers, and family to develop and implement care plans for patients for weight management, healthier lifestyle support, and at nutritional risk. This includes but not limited to wound healing, nutritional support, and discharge planning.

The Registered Dietician is available to provide therapeutic diet education for outpatients, as well, when ordered by a physician. Consultations may be done on a variety of nutritional needs such as diabetes, weight loss and management, cholesterol levels, weight loss surgery, healthier lifestyle support, etc.
